In general, a mindset coach works to gain a deep understanding of the beliefs, behaviours and thoughts driving their client’s experience of the world, before applying reprogramming techniques to shift and upgrade these internal systems. A growth mindset believes that basic abilities have the potential to develop into powerful strengths through hard work, determination and support. Individuals with a growth mindset shine when faced with challenges and view failure as an opportunity to learn and improve
This belief in the ability to better yourself is a core focus throughout mindset coaching, and a crucial foundation for pursuing and achieving your goals into the future.
Your locus of control is the extent to which you believe that YOU affect your life’s trajectory, as opposed to external circumstances.
For example, if you have an internal locus of control, you might believe that your success lies in your own skills and perseverance. On the other hand, if you have an external locus of control, you could attribute the same results to chance and timing.
Importantly, our locus of control is a spectrum, not a dichotomy. That means it’s possible to shift this mindset through coaching so you can take further charge of where you are now and where you want to be.
