‘Matrescence is the developmental transition to motherhood. It is a physical, psychological and emotional transformative experience women face after the birth.’

I was honoured to speak with Matrescence Educator, Women’s Life Cycle Guide & Host of the Dear Mama Project Podcast Nikki McCahon. I’ve always admired Nikki’s work. She has an ability to lean into her own vulnerability & create a space for honest conversations bringing light to motherhood and the transitions we face both internally and externally.

In this conversation Nikki shares her work and how looking at life through the lense of Matrescence has allowed her to shift perspective in many facets of her journey. We talk about Nikki’s journey into motherhood with her beautiful son and what the experience of matrescence looked like for her. She shares her recent experience in pregnancy loss and the resources she has lent on through this time to support her healing and Nikki also shares ways we can encourage ourselves to live with more intention and alignment everyday.
